    Clinical Associate

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12 with an appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical Associate. 3-year Bachelor of Clinical Medical Practice (BMCP). Current registration with HPCSA (2025/2026).
    • Clinical problem-solving skills and time management in a district hospital. Previous work experience will be added as an advantage in the field of clinical associate work.

    Duties :

    • The incumbent will be responsible for diagnosing, investigating and managing patients appropriately. Attend relevant administrative meetings where appropriate.
    • Perform ward rounds, attendance of morbidity & mortality and resuscitation patient safety Incident (PSI) and continuous professional development (CPD) meetings.
    • Improve the quality of care by providing appropriate clinical care. Reduce medical litigation by upholding a strong clinical ethos. Adherence to the Ideal Hospital Framework and Office of Health Standards Compliance requirements. participate in a multidisciplinary team to manage patients. Participation in unit responsibilities and ward rounds.
    • Ensure that administration and proper record-keeping are carried out in the allocated unit. Clinical Associates will rotate through various clinical areas, including Paediatrics, the Obstetrics and Gynaecology unit, male and female wards, and infectious and mental healthcare wards. Management of patients in the outpatient department (OPD). Perform all other duties delegated by Supervisor/Manager within scope of practice.
