    Medical Specialist Grade 1-3

    Requirements :

    • A medical MBBCh or equivalent degree with an appropriate qualification in psychiatry (FC Psych (SA), MMed (Psych) or equivalent qualification recognised by the HPCSA), which allows registration as a specialist psychiatrist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
    • Current registration with the HPCSA as an independent specialist psychiatrist. Interest in personality disorders and experience in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) will be an added advantage.
    • Sound clinical knowledge and skills in psychiatry and child psychiatry. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to fulfil the required teaching and training requirements. Knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures about mental health care users. Adequate interpersonal skills as well as professional and ethical conduct always. A valid driver’s license.

    Duties :

    • Provide a direct clinical service and manage a Adult psychiatric inpatient or outpatient unit. The provision of care, treatment, and rehabilitation to mental health care users within the framework of the Mental Health Care Act (No 17 of 2002); involvement in other general psychiatry work as needed. Provide outreach services to District Health Services and District/ Regional hospitals. Teaching and training of medical students, medical officers and psychiatry registrars, as well as other personnel (e.g. nurses, etc.).
    • To stimulate, assist with and conduct research relevant to the Gauteng Department of Health and Department of Psychiatry. To supervise and manage junior staff, which would include disciplinary responsibilities, if and when necessary.
    • Administrative duties. Active participation in hospital management committees. To assist with the development of policies and protocols of the hospital. Active participation in quality improvement programs, including clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings and continuous professional development activities. To liaise with external stakeholders when appropriate.
    • To always maintain professional and ethical conduct. This post is a joint appointment with the Department of Psychiatry, University of the Witwatersrand.     Medical Officer

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification which allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner. An interest in psychiatry and experience in psychiatry, as well as a Diploma in Mental Health and/or an FC Psych, will be an added advantage.

    Duties :

    Occupational Therapist Grade 1

    Requirements :

    • A relevant Degree in Occupational Therapy. Completion of community service. Current registration with the HPCSA as an independent Occupational Therapist.

    Requirements :

    Operational Manager Nursing (General)

    Requirements :

    • Grade12, Basic qualifications accredited with the SANC in terms of Government notice R425 (i.e., Diploma/Degree in nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as professional nurse.

    Requirements :

    • Matric or Grade 12 certificate. National Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Radiology Qualification. Proof of original registration and current registration with HPCSA for 2025/2026.

    • To adhere to Batho Pele Principles, Regulated Norms and Standards, and Ideal Clinic Realisation and Maintenance framework, Quality Assurance and other public service policies and Act. Manage conflict and implement corrective measures as and when necessary.

    Requirements :

    Clinical Programme Coordinator: Quality Assurance

    Requirements :

    • Matric Certificate with basic qualification accredited with SANC in terms of the Government Notice R425 (i.e. Diploma/ Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a professional Nurse in General, Psychiatry & Midwifery.

    • Provide strategic leadership for the Quality Directorate in the institution towards the realization of the set strategic goals and objective. Coordinates, investigates management. and reporting of complaints and patients’ safety incidents in the institution. Ensure compliance to IHRM in the institution and implementation thereof.
    • Participate in Ethics Committee and facilitate training on Quality Assurance and professional Code of Conduct. Participate in Clinical Audit.     Engineering Technician Production Grade A - C

    Requirements :

    • Senior/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12). National diploma or Degree or in engineering or an equivalent qualification in clinical engineering and be registered with the engineering council of South Africa (ECSA).
    • The candidate should have a minimum of three years' post-qualification technical experience in clinical engineering or at least fourteen years of relevant experience after registration with ECSA.
    • The role requires extensive experience in the repair, maintenance, and management of medical equipment, including the use of diagnostic and test instruments such as ECG simulators, defibrillator analyzers, infusion pump analyzers, multi meter, and other biomedical testing devices.
    • Candidates must demonstrate high-level computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft office suite (word, excel, access, PowerPoint), and the ability to generate, analyze, and present technical reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical and creative problem-solving abilities. Valid driver’s license.

    Duties :

    • The incumbent will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and management of all medical equipment, ensuring operational reliability and safety. They will maintain comprehensive electronic records of all repairs, preventive maintenance, and service activities.
    • Provide monthly reports and ensure compliance with service agreements. The role includes training clinical engineering students, end users, and other staff on the safe and effective use of medical equipment.

    Community Liaison Officer

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12 with Diploma/Degree in Social Work / Psychology qualification. The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience. Computer literacy.
    • Extensive knowledge on HIV and AIDS, STI is strongly recommended. Managerial and networking skills are recommended. Flexibility and ability to adapt to changes.
    • Experience in NPO sector will be an advantage. Good communication skills (verbal and written). A valid driver’s license is essential.

    Duties :

    • Provide technical support and mentoring for facility-based Community Care Workers (CCW’s) and those placed at DoH funded NPO’s (HTS, WBOT and Hospice).
    • Ensure that allocated targets are met. Liaise with WBOT team leaders at sub district level. Ensure HTS complies with guidelines and quality assurance protocols (RTCQI) Proficiency Testing and facility accreditation.
    • Maintain a good relationship between intergovernmental departments and District support partners to ensure that the HAST Programme meets the set objectives. Coordinate and conduct outreach campaigns according to the health calendar in collaboration with the intergovernmental departments, NPO’s, Private sectors and CBOs.
    • Coordinate the implementation of NSP 2023 – 2028 and HTS policy, VMMC, TB/HIV collaboration, HTA and adherence clubs. Monitor and strengthen condom distribution in all Primary Distribution sites (PDSs) within SSDR. Monitor and conduct support visits to DoH funded HTS NPO’s monitoring of budget and program compliance.
    • Compile and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Identify training needs for CHW’s. Conduct in-service training to capacitate CHW’s. Lead and form NPO’s forum meeting at a sub district level.

    Occupational Theraphy Technician Grade 1 – Grade 2 (Readvertisement)

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12 with an appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA), as an Occupational Therapy Technician.
    • Knowledge in Community- Base Rehabilitation (CBR) and Primary Health Care services. Valid registration with HPCSA and currently registered.
    • Grade 1: Less than 10 years’ relevant experience after registration with HPCSA as an Occupational Therapy Technician.
    • Grade 2: 10 years and more relevant experience after registration with HPCSA as an Occupational Therapy Technician. Valid drivers’ license is essential. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Problem Solving Skills and innovative skills.

    Duties :

    • Suitable candidate will be expected to render effective patient centred Occupational Therapy services in a clinic and community setting in adherence to the scope of practice and health protocols. Do outreach to the surrounding clinics around the area of responsibility (base team) Conduct home visits where required. Plan and conduct group exercise class and Task Centered Groups. Demonstrate the ability to conduct and participate in health promotion, prevention, curative and disability awarenesses.
    • Issue assistive devices (as per Occupational therapy needs identified). Submit detailed daily and monthly reports and stats using the available departmental tool within set timelines.
    • Do outreach to the surrounding NGOs and screenings for ECI (Early Childhood Intervention). Work closely with multidisciplinary team members. Carry out delegated duties by supervisor or manager. Participate in continuous professional development activities. Establish support groups and run projects as identified with multidisciplinary team members. Participate in research projects in the district. Attend and participate in Occupational Therapy monthly meetings.
