Senior/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12). National diploma or Degree or in engineering or an equivalent qualification in clinical engineering and be registered with the engineering council of South Africa (ECSA).
The candidate should have a minimum of three years' post-qualification technical experience in clinical engineering or at least fourteen years of relevant experience after registration with ECSA.
The role requires extensive experience in the repair, maintenance, and management of medical equipment, including the use of diagnostic and test instruments such as ECG simulators, defibrillator analyzers, infusion pump analyzers, multi meter, and other biomedical testing devices.
Candidates must demonstrate high-level computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft office suite (word, excel, access, PowerPoint), and the ability to generate, analyze, and present technical reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical and creative problem-solving abilities. Valid driver’s license.
Duties :
The incumbent will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and management of all medical equipment, ensuring operational reliability and safety. They will maintain comprehensive electronic records of all repairs, preventive maintenance, and service activities.
Provide monthly reports and ensure compliance with service agreements. The role includes training clinical engineering students, end users, and other staff on the safe and effective use of medical equipment.
