A relevant Degree in Occupational Therapy. Completion of community service. Current registration with the HPCSA as an independent Occupational Therapist.
Other skills include appropriate clinical experience in a psychiatric setting. Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry will be an advantage. Computer literate, good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Duties :
Render and manage Occupational Therapy services that comply with standards and norms as indicated by the health policies of South Africa. Assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based/client-centred therapies for general OT services.
To contribute to the maintenance and development of OT services at Tara. Implement individual and group programs for inpatients and outpatients. To work as part of the MDT. Implement sectional and provincial quality assurance measures.
Complete stats and monthly reports. Attend and participate in OT and hospital meetings. Participate in continued professional development. Supervise allocated students from the University of the Witwatersrand. Participate in all other duties allocated by the supervisor.
