Grade 12 certificate or equivalent. Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Degree/Diploma in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
Current registration with the South African Nursing Council for 2026. A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing. At least 2 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience in Paediatric stoma therapy. A certificate in stoma therapy. A post basic qualification in Health Services Management/Nursing Administration registered with SANC will be an added advantage.

Duties :
Coordination of optimal, holistic specialized nursing care with set standards and within a professional/legal framework in Stoma Therapy unit. Effectively manage supervision and utilization of resources Human, Material, and monitoring of the services.
Provision of quality patient care through adherence to set standards, policies and procedures. Formulate pre-operative and post-operative management for patients undergoing stoma surgery. Provide health education to patients, family members, health care workers and ostomy groups on paediatric stoma care. Liaise with ward-based nursing teams to provide training and support for in-patients with temporary or permanent stomas.
Effective utilisation of resources. Work effectively, amicably with persons of diverse intellectual, cultural, racial or religious differences. To uphold Batho-Pele Principles and Patient’s Rights Charter.
Participation in training and research. Maintenance of professional growth, ethical standards and self-development and that of subordinates in line with SANC CPD framework. Compliance to confidentiality. Comply with the Performance Management and Development System (Contracting, reviews and final assessment).
