Senior Certificate/Grade 12 and Appropriate qualification BA Degree in Social work and registration with the SACSSP and proof of current registration
Grade 1: a minimum of 2 years required after registration with SACSSP as Social Worker
Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience after registration with SACSSP as Social Worker
Grade 3: A minimum of 6 years’ appropriate experience after registration with SACSSP as a Social Worker .
Grade 4: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience after registration with SACSSP as a Social Worker.
Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in gender-based violence (GBV), victim empowerment, or human trafficking programs. Experience in case management, trauma-informed care, and psychosocial support. Experience coordinating with clinical forensic medical services (CFMS), health facilities, law enforcement, and other stakeholders (added advantage).
Ability and willingness to perform duties outside of normal hours and away from base of employment when required.
A valid driver’s licence (Compulsory). Willingness to give evidence in Courts
Computer literacy (MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint); Very Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Duties :
Provide oversight for implementation of policy and legislation pertaining to social crime prevention and victim empowerment services, through developmental quality assurance and case audits.
Participate in the VEP Forum relating to Social Crime Prevention and Victim Empowerment. Provide oversight and practical support to professionals on the management of trafficking in person.
Coordinate educational awareness about Clinical Forensic Medical Services to women, children, older Persons, People with disabilities’ Youth who are victims of crime and violence and programs that eradicates gender-based violence.
Assist to manage and utilize resources in accordance with relevant directives and legislation. Conduct and coordinate awareness campaigns on GBV and human trafficking.
Train CFMS staff and partners on handling victims of trafficking and GBV using trauma-informed approaches. Strengthen referral systems and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
