    Commercial Data Analyst

    Main Purpose

    • Assist the Senior Commercial Analyst in using mathematical models and predictive economic research to provide insights to guide strategic and tactical decision making within a competitive commercial context.

    • Perform evaluations, analysis and present reports in support of remaining competitive within the business environment

    • Assist with Data & Analytics Use Case creation and evaluation
    • Understand the data landscape around profitability reporting including organisation and product taxonomy, hierarchies, source system landscape and data flows
    • Assist with Data & Analytics Use Case development and evaluation and consequent review to ensure delivery of benefits, aligned to financial principles that are consistent with Woolworths' accounting principles.
    • Preferably a relevant business diploma / degree (Retail business management/BCom/Clothing management/BScience/BA) 
    • 3-5 years planning experience 
    • Extensive Retail knowledge 
    • Technically strong merchandising skills 
    • High attention to detail
    • Merchant and retail ability: demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the market place, competitors and customer needs 
    • Knowledge of business IT systems (including Forecasting and Replenishment, RMS etc)
    • Knowledge of Product lead times to formulate a working critical path 
    • Ability to formulate strategies and implement shorter-term tactical plans that are cost – effective efficient and realistic 
    • Analytical and interpretative ability 
    • Business acumen: an understanding of basic business processes and how sales are generated and the ability to achieve these goals 
    • Computer literate: advanced Excel Skills and ability to operate in a Windows based environment 
    • Assertiveness and influencing ability 
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills 
    • Results driven and proactive 
    • Ability to work in a pressurised environment 
    • Team Player
