To provide SMME clients with professional telephonic advice and claims assistance. Must be able to advise mandate holders and manage panel attorneys on mainly commercial, civil and labour-related matters.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Efficient administration of commercial, civil and labour claims according to prescribed procedures and relevant legislation applicable;
Manage and finalise complex legal claims;
Be able to appoint attorneys and manage the progress of claims and ensure that they are being attended to diligently;
Drafting of various commercial contracts;
Ability to work independently whilst providing quality service to covered clients;
Ensure that all communication (written and oral) with clients and attorneys are of a professional standard;
Provide recommendation to management on speedy and efficient finalisation of claims;
Mitigate business risk in claim handling;
Ability to manage external legal costs; and,
To ensure that overall performance and quality is in line with Company standards and Policy Protection Rules (PPR) regulations.
Qualification and Skill Requirements
Candidate must have strong customer centric values and critical thinking/problem solving skills
Must be an admitted attorney;
Minimum of 2 years practical experience within a law firm is essential;
Gound legal knowledge in commercial, civil and labour claims;
A proven track record of drafting pleadings and legal representation at Magistrate Court and CCMA;
Drafting of pleadings and experience in High Court rules and procedures will be beneficial; and,
Experience in taxing legal costs and/or drafting bill of costs.
