Commercial Property Accountant: Lynnwood, Pretoria at FS Personnel Recruitment

Desired experience and qualifications:

• SAIPA or CIMA
• Commercial property accounting experience will be beneficial (retail and/or office property)
• Experience with tenant billing, recoveries, reconciliations, and month-end reporting will be beneficial
• Understanding of South African municipal and utility recoveries
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience working on a property management system such as MDA or MRI Property Central will be advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

• Tenant Billing & Leases: Process and review monthly tenant billing in accordance with lease agreements.
• Recoveries: Calculate, bill and reconcile tenant recoveries, including municipal and utility recoveries.
• Building Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate accounting records for a commercial property portfolio, process supplier invoices, allocate costs correctly and maintain a clean general ledger.
• Reconciliations: Reconcile tenant accounts, municipal accounts, deposits and intercompany balances, and investigate and resolve reconciling items.
• Month-End Close: Prepare accruals, journals and complete month-end close processes, ensuring accurate monthly financial reporting.
• Deposits & Arrears: Maintain tenant deposit records and assist with tenant account queries where required.
• Reporting Support: Prepare budget-to-actual reports, portfolio performance reports and assist with annual budgets and forecasts.
• Compliance & Systems: Ensure accurate financial records, compliance with accounting standards and maintain data integrity within the property management system.
