Communication Specialist at Sasol

Short Description / Purpose of Job

To initiate, implement, manage and facilitate Communication initiatives in line with identified stakeholders, communication requirements, ensuring that these are governed by communications policies, sound ethical, project management and legal principles/practices after in-depth needs and compliance with due approval processes. Develop communication tools, channels and content ensuring that messaging is sustained, promotes understanding and is of a high quality and enhances Sasol’s reputation with its internal and external audiences.

• Coordinate relevant subject matter input for the establishment of SHE learning content to support SHE competencies.
• Protect, enhance and grow the SHE reputation through thoughtful creative conceptualization, graphic design and execution for a range of traditional and online channels.
• Produce design solutions to communicate key messages with high visual impact by developing creative concepts, identifying the appropriate media and style to meet the client's objectives.
• Provide key support to the Manager: Mobilisation, Governance, Assurance and Reporting with specialist/expert knowledge in graphic design solutions in accordance with Sasol’s brand corporate identity guidelines.
• Regular briefings with Manager: Mobilisation, Governance, Assurance and reporting to determine design requirements from typesetting through to design, print and production where relevant.
• The job scope demands creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of relevant design industry software and emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as CorelDraw, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver, Augmented reality, Adobe creative cloud and Flash.
• Proofreading ability to produce accurate and high quality work
• Demonstrate a professional approach to time and costs management

• Graphic design management and implementation
• Design and plan Graphic design and DTP solutions in line with scope of work, available resources and active stakeholder involvement.
• Conceptualize innovative and impactful graphic design solutions, theme and layout.
• Meeting clients to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job in line with the written brief.
• Interpreting the client's business needs and developing a concept that meets the brief, and is aligned to SHE Communication and Brand Management strategy.
• Developing design briefs by gathering information and data through in house research.
• Estimating the time required to complete the work
• Thinking creatively and out of the box to produce new ideas and concepts.
• Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time.
• Be confident enough to present finalized ideas and concepts to clients.
• Be experienced in a range of channels.
• Ensure that all graphic design projects have a production schedule in place and that the correct procurement procedures have been followed.
• Ensure all graphic design and DTP is done with elements and messages that are consistent with the broader SHE communication strategy.
