Role Overview

Strategic Council

• Contribute to the development of the external communications strategies and plans
• Provide expert advice and strategic counsel to clients on external communication strategies aligned with their business goals and market positioning.

Media Relations

• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors and media outlets to manage media queries effectively.
• Develop media pitches for interviews and placement for the Deloitte Africa brand, Africa EXCO, Service Lines and Industries
• Project Managing media relations campaigns.

Content Development

• Create compelling content including press releases that reinforces the clients messaging and enhances visibility.

Crisis Communications

• Support BMCI Leader as well as External Media & Stakeholder Management Leader in executing communications plans during high-stress situations to protect the brand’s reputation and mitigate negative publicity.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage with stakeholders to build trust and support Deloitte initiatives.
• Support the execution of the stakeholder relations framework and activities.
• Manage update of the stakeholder matrix.
• Build and maintain internal stakeholder relationships.

Campaign Execution

• Lead the development and execution of integrated communication campaigns across traditional and digital channels, ensuring consistency and effectiveness.

Measurement, Analysis & Reporting

• Monitor and evaluate the impact of communication efforts using metrics and analysis to inform future strategies and optimise results.
• Provide timely and relevant reporting on key initiatives.

Thought Leadership / Eminence

• Position clients as industry thought leaders through thought-provoking content, speaking opportunities, and participating in industry events.
• Provide support to leadership for speaking engagements by developing key messages and talking points.
• Identify proactive external opportunities for profiling of the business, Africa EXCO, Service Lines and Industry SMEs:
• Provide on-the-ground support at media engagements.

• Effective and efficient execution of team processes (budgeting, reporting & briefing)

Collaboration

• Collaborate with Insights, Marketing, Creative Services and Digital teams.
• Collaborate with the East and West African teams.
