Purpose of the job
Develop creative and effective internal and external communications for company marketing, branding and customer campaigns to drive consistent, targeted and integrated messages that enable divisions to meet key objectives, aligned to the organisational strategy.

Understand the strategic objectives of the organisation to influence and guide the business to meet key objectives through communication to employees, brokers and customers.
Work closely with key stakeholders (e.g. senior leadership, change managers etc.) to understand requirements and intended impact.
Synthesise complex information for various audiences, using the plain language approach.
Drive clear messages (aligned to brand objectives and in line with the company tone and writing style) through appropriate channels, while and managing change fatigue across the organisation.
Coordinate and implement virtual company communication engagements and leadership sessions.
Develop the weekly electronic company newsletter.
Facilitate the development of the company social media content calendar.
Develop, track and measure important company communication to enable alignment, as well as ensure quality and impact.
Align communications approach and share important news and messages with Old Mutual Group Communications.
Monitor activities of competitors and share findings with the relevant business areas.
Influence key stakeholders to understand communications as a key enabler to manage and change perceptions.
Implement an integrated communication and change management strategy for projects that maximizes user adoption and proficiency and minimizes resistance, by increasing benefit realisation, value creation, ROI and the achievement of business objectives

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, English or Journalism
3 – 5 years’ experience in copy writing, editing and stakeholder management (at a public relations agency or in the financial services industry).
Need to be process driven, have meticulous attention to detail, have solid people and time management skills, as well as the ability to deliver under pressure, effectively navigate through complexity to clarify convoluted messaging and work independently.
