Compliance and Data Protection Officer at Mediclinic

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

• To lead the implementation of policies, guidelines and governance measures related to data protection and legal compliance for Mediclinic Southern Africa.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Law, or relevant tertiary qualification
• DESIRED EDUCATION: Post graduate degree in Commerce or Law

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years’ working experience if tertiary qualification is not in Commerce or Law
• DESIRED EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years’ experience in data protection and compliance in a corporate environment, engaging with senior stakeholders

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Implement, monitor and ensure compliance with the Group data protection framework with relevant policies, methodologies and action plans
• Fulfill the role of GDPR Data Protection and Compliance Officer for Mediclinic Southern Africa
• Ensure an effective feedback system to internal and external stakeholders is in place
• Drive the quality of strategic compliance processes
• Ensure compliance processes are embedded throughout the division

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Compliance and risk management frameworks and methodologies
• Data protection law and practices and international best practices
• Healthcare environment/industry and related regulatory requirements
• Legal/regulatory environments of South Africa
