Compliance Associate at JUMO.WORLD

As Compliance Associate you will be accountable for assisting the Head of Compliance with rolling out key compliance initiatives across JUMO’s business operations in Africa.  You will be based in South Africa and will report to the Head of Compliance.  We operate a remote first working approach where working remotely is our default way of working. We have co-working spaces available in Cape Town for collaboration and connection and for the use of those who value and want to work out of an office.

If you join us, you’ll

• Work with the Head of Compliance to give effect to JUMO’s compliance programme, including but not limited to a focus on data privacy and protection, consumer protection, anti-money laundering and anti-bribery and corruption compliance.
• Work with the Head of Compliance to implement a robust approach to compliance risk management and control testing.
• Foster Compliance and Risk ownership and accountability within the organization through collaborative engagement, training and providing support to stakeholders on aspects of risk and compliance.
• Carry out compliance risk assessments and testing on risks associated with new business and new products.

What you’ll need

• Law degree
• At least 5 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally within a Fintech environment.
• Expert knowledge of and immediate experience in financial services compliance.
• Experience in cross-border/ pan Africa compliance is preferred.
• Additional Compliance certifications advantageous.
