    Job Description

    Tokai Estate | Faircape Life

    • Faircape Life operates six premier retirement villages across the Western Cape, offering residents a secure, vibrant, and welcoming lifestyle supported by exceptional service and beautifully maintained facilities.
    • We are seeking a professional, confident and proactive Concierge to join our team at Tokai Estate on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
    • This is not a traditional front desk concierge role. The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling and coordinating the movement of contractors, visitors and staff throughout the estate during building operations, ensuring security procedures are followed while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment.
    • The ideal candidate will have a strong security or facilities background, excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with people at all levels while maintaining Faircape's high service standards.

    Duties will include, but are not be limited to:

    • Welcome and assist contractors, visitors and suppliers arriving at the estate.
    • Manage contractor access, ensuring all sign-in procedures and site protocols are followed.
    • Direct contractors, visitors and staff to the correct locations within the estate.
    • Ensure contractors and staff use the correct entrances, exits and designated access routes.
    • Monitor the movement of contractors throughout the property and report any non-compliance.
    • Liaise with maintenance teams, security and operational staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
    • Maintain accurate visitor and contractor records.
    • Enforce estate rules and access procedures in a professional and respectful manner.
    • Address queries confidently while providing exceptional customer service.
    • Take initiative to resolve operational issues before they escalate.
    • Report incidents, safety concerns and maintenance issues promptly.
    • Maintain a professional appearance and represent the Faircape brand positively at all times.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • Registered with PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority).
    • Grade A Security Certificate.

    Skills & Attributes

    • Previous experience within a security, concierge, estate, facilities or access control environment.
    • Experience managing contractor access and visitor control.
    • Previous supervisory or staff coordination experience would be advantageous.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of the English language.
    • Professional, well-presented and approachable.
    • Confident in dealing with contractors, staff and visitors at all levels.
    • Assertive and able to enforce procedures while remaining courteous and respectful.
    • Takes initiative and is able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Able to follow instructions accurately while exercising sound judgement.
    • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
    • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and email.
    • Calm under pressure with good problem-solving abilities.
    • Honest, reliable and accountable.
    • High level of integrity and professionalism.
    • Customer service orientated without compromising operational and security standards.

    Specific Requirements

    • Clear criminal record.
    • Clear credit record.
    • Clear health record.
    • 2 positive written references.
