Condition Monitoring Assistant - Fixed Term Contract 06 Months at Komatsu Mining

Job Overview

• The position will be based at Seriti New Denmark Colliery and the incumbent will report to the Supervisor - Condition Monitoring.
• Responsible for supporting maintenance teams by collecting and analyzing data on equipment health, such as oil samples and vibration readings, to prevent breakdowns and ensure safe, efficient operations. The role is hands-on, often based onsite in mining, construction, or industrial environments, and requires technical knowledge, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards. 

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure that the oil samples are sampled according to schedule;
• Ensure that vibration data is collected as per schedule;
• Ensure that relevant safety standards are applied;
• Assist CMS technician onsite with condition monitoring duties.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Grade 12;
• Oil sampling for analysis;
• Vibration data collection for analysis;
• Basic understanding of all condition monitoring equipment such as the data collector and sample pumps;
• Understanding the proper sampling procedures;
• Basic understanding of oil and vibration analysis report;
• Sound understanding of all mine standards and procedures;
• Experience on Joy/Underground machines will be an advantage.

Additional Information

• Must be able to work under extreme pressure;
• Good communication and people skills;
• Must be a self-starter who takes control and accountability and willing to work overtime and standby as and when required.
• Must be residing in Secunda or Standerton.
