CONFINED LABEL PRODUCT TECHNOLOGIST
Boxer Superstores, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pick and Pay, is a rapidly growing Supermarket discount chain operating in all provinces throughout South Africa. Owing to our growth we are looking for an experienced Confined Label Product Technologist to join our fast paced Commercial team, based at our Durban Westville Head Office.
To assist the Confined Label Manager with the continuous improvement of current confined labels and the technical development of new confined label products
Assist the CL Manager with the project management of New Brands Developments Timelines , Targets & Reporting
Assist the CL Manager by following up with key internal and external stake holders on the required Company documentation and that all fields within the documentation are filled in correctly pertaining the development, not limited but including the list below:
Technical Product Compliance records, such as Microbiological testing and shelf life testing, etc.
Product and Supplier specific legislation compliance such as a copy of their Reg.638 COA as per HB Agreement.
Food safety or product quality certification
Packaging/Raw material product specification
Assist with the co-ordination and review of all confined label product testing prior to Launch and results thereof is analysed and communicated
Assist the CL Manager with the management of testing service provider with current Private Label Database and results thereof in terms of risk to be communicated
Assist the CL Manager with the management of Third Party Legislation checks on all new products and changes thereof to be communicated to Marketing for changes on design
High, medium Risk Profile Suppliers , ensure food safety team is made aware and adhoc inspections to be conducted and report backs thereof needs to managed directly with the supplier
The Internal auditing of Private Label files
Assist the CL Manager with the management for the collection of artwork disk and final physical proof sign off with barcodes scanning and actual test print
Education and experience
Degree/Diploma in Food Technology or similar applied Science qualification is essential
Packaging technology qualification will be advantageous
Minimum 2-3 Years’ experience in the FMCG industry
Good communication skills/ telephone etiquette
Must have excellent computer skills
Attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
