Requirements
Appropriate tertiary qualification in journalism, English or media studies advantageous
Exceptional English writing and editing skills
1 year experience in a newsroom or similar environment
Property, financial, lifestyle or similar writing experience
Research and social media skills
Newsletter creation and distribution experience
Hybrid role therefore must live in the Cape Town area

Sub-editing of press releases
Online publishing of property news, advice and lifestyle articles
Image editing and filing
Assist with content for partner sites
Assist with research and guest expert content
Sourcing and writing feature property content as required
Responsible for compiling and sending the 4 weekly newsletters
Newsletter analytics and strategy
Hot Properties writer
Understanding of social media platforms – Facebook and Twitter, and how to publish on each platform
Social platforms content creation – from short form video content to designing images
Assist with writing marketing /PR copy
Assist with marketing/PR activities as required
Ad hoc daily admin
Manage user feedback resulting from published content
Editing copy, to remove spelling mistakes and grammatical errors
Rewriting material so that it flows or reads better and adheres to the style of Property24
Ensuring that a story fits a particular word count by cutting or expanding material as necessary
Writing headlines that capture the essence of the story or to improve click-through rate
Checking facts and stories to ensure they're accurate, adhere to copyright laws, are not libellous or go against Property24’s policies
Cropping photos and deciding where to use them for best effect and writing picture captions
