    Continuous Improvement Coordinator - CMD

    Brief description

    The main purpose of this position is to coordinate continuous improvement and lean operational initiatives across the Currency Management Department (CMD) and to support CMD’s journey in driving continuous improvement and delivering on lean strategies.

    Detailed description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Support the Lean Specialist and Manager: Cash Supply Chain Solutions in the implementation of lean projects to achieve CMD’s strategic goals.
    • Plan for the delivery of the lean initiatives to ensure effective implementation. 
    • Coordinate the lean improvement initiatives, ensuring implementation within agreed timelines. 
    • Analyse and interpret data, and provide progress reports on continuous improvement initiatives to the Lean Specialist and Manager: Cash Supply Chain Solutions.
    • Update production key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met and provide concise and accurate information for management reports.
    • Track the implementation and improvement progress of lean initiatives (e.g. time and motion studies) across CMD’s divisions using relevant data and applicable software (i.e. MS Excel, Minitab, Ms Visio).
    • Work closely with all relevant CMD divisions and maintain implementation plans for the CMD lean strategy.
    • Provide technical input into operational teams in the application of continuous improvement and lean principles (i.e. DMAIC, Kaizen, 5s principles, 5 Whys, Cause and Effect, and Fishbone).
    • Coordinate and deliver training in respect of lean processes.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

    • a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Lean Supply Chain Management (SCM), Operations Management or an equivalent qualification;
    • a Lean Green Belt Certification; and
    • three to five years’ experience in innovating supply chain operations within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
