Controller Inventory at Mondi Group

Purpose of the position

Reporting to the inventory manager, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the Richards Bay Mill inbound raw materials inventory by effective receipting of all inbound raw materials and capturing in SAP, ensures that stock counts are done timeously, manages redundant stock and ensures that offloading of raw materials is done safely, and housekeeping is maintained according to SHEQ standards and regulations

Job Specific Experience

• Min 4-5 years in an industrial or manufacturing/ logistics environment
• Experience in data capturing and inventory management
• Must be computer literate with good knowledge of MS office and SAP experience
• Forklift & crane operating experience

Qualifications & Expertise

• Matric
• Diploma in supply chain or logistics or related commercial qualification
• ABZ /National Certificate in pulp & paper making would be advantageous

Functional Outputs

• Performs receiving activities (GR’s) of all inbound raw materials and felts in SAP
• Performs plant to plant material transfers and capturing reservation in SAP daily
• Manages strategic stock planning and forecasting for raw materials and felts, assisting the company to maintain enough holding stock
• Ensures stock rotation of goods is maintained using FIFO principle
• Assist operations to ensure a smooth and effective stock count by attending to any queries arising during stock count process
• Review operations schedules and production requirements to ensure timely order fulfilment
• Develop and implement improvements to the existing operational procedures to maximise efficiency
• Creates reservations, purchase requisitions and deviation notices on MFiles as and when required.
• Performing regular inventory levels and reporting any deviations or issues to the inventory manager
• Implement processes and systems to reduce inventory, minimise costs and maximise working capital
• Liaise with Finance, Procurement, and various Business Units on weekly and monthly stock count activities
• Attends to the suppliers and creditors queries arising from invoicing process
• Coordinates dispatching of outbound by-products
• Offloading of inbound raw materials at chemical store
• Expedite and attends to any offloading delays with operations
• Carries out any reasonable tasks as requested by Management
• Maintains the required standards of safety and housekeeping at chemical store
• Complies with the company safety policies, procedures as well as relevant legislation
• Management of Chemical Store, housekeeping of thereof, and direct engagement with operations on daily basis to ensure compliance to Hazard Chemical Standards in every Chemical Storage Area
