Corporate Accountant at TWK Agri

Job Summary:

The Corporate Accountant will oversee the financial operations of TWK Agri, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial information. This role includes the preparation of financial statements, conducting financial analyses, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting the organisation's overall financial strategy.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Financial Reporting

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the group and subsidiaries within the group
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results in accordance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
• Manage the consolidation of financial statements for multiple entities within the organisation

Audit and Internal Controls

• Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring all audit requirements are met
• Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy

Financial Analysis

• Conduct financial analyses to support business decisions and strategic initiatives
• Provide insights into financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement
• Assist in investment analysis, cost analysis, and profitability analysis

Regulatory Compliance

• Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and standards
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements, including sustainability standards
• Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures

Team Collaboration and Leadership

• Collaborate with other departments to gather and provide financial information
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed
• Support senior management with financial insights and reporting

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) / SAIPA / AGA(SA) designation
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment
• Proven experience in financial reporting and financial analysis
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards and regulations
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with financial modelling
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
