CSI and PR Manager at Mukuru

Job Function:

• This position is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the CSI programs that effectively promote the business corporate responsibility and investment strategy, as well as promoting what we do in the media. The CSI and PR Manager will also be expected to report back on projects and desired outcomes to the business on a regular basis.

The CSI and PR Manager reports directly to the Head of Marketing.

Duties and Responsibilities (include but is not limited to):

CSI Strategy

• Define and implement the Mukuru CSI Strategy
• Create and Manage the CSI Budget
• Identify and manage Projects that align with the Mukuru CSI Strategy
• Create a CSI Projects Activity Calendar
• Report back to business re plans and successes on CSI initiatives
• Keep abreast of competitor activity in this space
• Define how to disseminate CSI information internally and externally (press releases, social media, LinkedIn, media) and brief designers on artwork design
• Identify media partners who could potentially be used to get the Mukuru CSI message across
• Define company’s CSI and PR policies, ensure they are up to date and communicated to the relevant stakeholders
• Co-ordinate staff activities and events in support of CSI programs
• Arrange opportunities for staff to participate in CSI initiatives
• Ensure CSI initiatives are in line with the Mukuru vision and strategy
• Identify ways to increase staff morale, attract staff as well as customers through CSI initiatives

To take ownership of sponsorship initiatives

• Evaluate sponsorship requests that have been submitted
• Run a review meeting for further evaluation and validation
• Assist in the negotiation of agreements for approved sponsorship events/initiatives
• Coordinate arrangements for approved sponsorship events/initiatives
• Arrange branding and marketing items for sponsorship events
• Attend events to ensure the brand is represented correctly
• Actively seek out sponsorship opportunities

Ensure effective CSI branding is in place

• Ensure company CSI activities are advertised and promoted effectively (both internally and externally)

Self-Development

• To manage own professional and self-development
• Attend monthly KPI discussion with Head of Marketing
• Attend bi-annual monthly performance meeting with Head of Marketing

Minimum Requirements (include but is not limited to):

• Grade 12 (Essential)
• Degree / Diploma in Public Relations, Communications or Social Sciences (Essential)
• At least 5 years’ experience in CSI and PR
• At least 2 years People Management experience
• Retail or Financial Services CSI & PR experience advantageous
• Experience with presentations at senior level (eg Exco)
