CSSD at Lenmed Private Hospitals

Main Focus Areas

• The Incumbent will be responsible for the decontamination, sterilisation, and packing of surgical instruments and medical equipment in line with hospital protocols and infection control standards.

Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

• Perform cleaning, decontamination, and sterilisation of instruments and equipment
• Prepare and pack surgical instrument sets according to theatre requirements
• Operate sterilisation equipment (autoclaves, washers, etc.) safely and effectively
• Maintain accurate records of sterilisation cycles and equipment usage
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards
• Conduct routine checks and report faulty equipment
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• CSSD qualification or relevant sterile services certification (advantageous)
• Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a CSSD environment
• Knowledge of sterilisation processes and infection control practices
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good communication and teamwork skills
