    Customs Clearing and Forwarding Site Administrator - Amanzimtoti

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking and tracing imported materials, managing internal customer communications while ensuring compliance with BASF Trade control, transport safety requirements, ISO standards, as well as responsible care practices.

    Duties will include the following: 

    • Tracking, tracing, and managing all imported materials and acting as the key contact with nominated Customs Clearance agent/LSP
    • Regularly communicating the status of shipments to manage internal customer expectations
    • Receiving, checking, and preparing full documentation pack required for import customs clearance and providing it to LSP
    • Handling all customs and foreign trade related queries as well as monthly VAT due reporting to Finance
    • Creating PR/PO and maintaining them for courier service providers, including reconciling invoices and goods receipts
    • Managing the airfreight process, including tracking, delivery management, cost allocation, invoice  reconciliation, as well as handling the Styrene MMA accommodation account
    • Perform administrative duties, ensuring smooth operations and collaborating with Inventory controller at Terminals and Warehouse 3rd Party service providers
    • Utilize reporting skills to analyze large data sets, identify optimization opportunities, track trends, and contribute actively to project goals and objectives

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Supply Chain environment, preferably within the chemical industry
    • Minimum of 5 years' work experience in a Production environment
    • Strong focus on Customs clearing processes and a deep understanding of INCO terms
    • Clear understanding of the requirements in both the importing and exporting countries  
    • Extensive knowledge and proficiency in SAP system
    • Advanced Excel skills to effectively analyze and process data
