ROLE PURPOSE

To deliver security event and incident analysis, and participate in security control assurance assessments within the context of our provided Enterprise and SBM SOC services.

The role will contribute to SOC’s maturity, as well as improve the governance thereof on an ongoing basis. A key role, demonstrating value offered to clients thorough event monitoring, analysis and investigation, alert generation, incident response, review and closure.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in information technology o.r computer science will be an advantage.
• At least 2 and preferably 3 relevant Cyber Security certifications e.g. Security+, GCIH, GSEC, CASP+, CEH, OSCP, SSCP, etc. is a mandatory requirement.
• Minimum of 5-8 years' relevant work experience as a Senior Cyber Security Analyst.
• Proven experience in doing day-to-day Cyber Security event analysis, confirmed by practical examples of previous SOC exposure.
• Good understanding of networking, systems and security software is mandatory.
• Technical knowledge of routers, firewalls, and servers, including databases and commercial applications is expected along
• Threat Hunting skill base or relevant training, proven incident response and remediation assistance ability.

KEY OUTPUTS

• This role requires an individual that is a skilled, experienced and talented Cyber Security Analyst, who can direct and conduct event analysis and incident handling for our customers. As somebody that has some suitable certifications, the expectation will be that you are skilled and experienced to apply best practice analysis and incident handling methodologies, can work with related security technologies, and has the skill and techniques to review, analyse and find possible threats within customer environments as part of doing day-to-day event monitoring within a SOC environment. Key in this regard is interpretation of the information received and collected and finding ways to handle and resolve incidents according to customer SLA expectations.
• The role is multi-faceted, from doing the stated event analysis, but also coordinating challenging threat hunting and red/blue team testing, evaluation of continuous risk validation results from vulnerability scanners, automated pen testing, or breach and attack simulation (BAS) tools.

Specific responsibilities:

• Responsible for security event and incident analysis, related investigations, coordinate and participate in threat hunting, and has to be able to work in a rapid paced security operations environment.
• Identifying and recording security flaws and breaches and areas of high-level concern
• Escalating critical findings for which remediation or mitigation cannot be delayed.
• Reviewing and analysing the findings and recommending corrective actions and proposed improvements to customer security postures.
• Provide guidance to customer stakeholders regarding recommended remediation or mitigation.
• Delivering professional reports and presenting of results to customers.
• Participating in challenging fact finding investigations, incident response and consultative thought leader sessions.
• Deployment and utilization of relevant technologies.
