Daily Sun Journalist X2 at Media24 (Pty) Ltd

Duties will include the following:

• Writing authoritative and breaking news reports and articles for Daily Sun newspaper and dailysun.co.za.
• Work with the news editor to ensure a lively and relevant homepage.
• Occasionally tell stories through videos and audio.
• Writing quick news, aggregate news content for Daily Sun’s growing online publication.
• Creating and maintaining an extensive network of news contacts.
• Making original and feasible suggestions for stories.
• Writing authoritative and breaking celebrity, community and national news reports and articles.
• Be able to work under pressure and after hours.
• Tweet, post on Facebook and other social media platforms while out on stories or functions.
• Be able to use different content management systems in order to file stories on different platforms.

The successful candidate should meet the following criteria:

• At least two year’s experience and preferably a degree;
• A keen news sense and intuition for newsworthy items;
• The ability and self-motivation to deliver reports on a daily basis at the pace required by a daily newspaper;
• A valid driver's licence.
