The Opportunity: We are a global company based in Newlands, Cape Town looking for two bright, highly motivated and ambitious individuals to join our Graduate Recruitment Scheme.
The role involves:
1. Conducting data research and validation
2. Processing data and ensuring compliance
3. Data analysis
4. Producing written content
The role is best suited to a graduate or a junior, who is looking for a role with growth potential. The successful candidate(s) will spend one year on the Graduate Programme after which they may have the opportunity to be placed on a fast track development into Marketing, Sales or Event Production. This role is available with an immediate start (6 September).
Requirements: You should be able to demonstrate competency in the below key areas. It is not essential to meet all requirements but priority will be given to applications that satisfy most:
A degree or diploma in relevant field
Computer literate, able to work in CRM systems and strong understanding of excel
Knowledge or experience in Oil and Gas/Energy Industry
Excellent English and Communication skills (especially on phone)
Knowledge of Spanish, French or Arabic is a bonus
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1.Conducting data research and validation
Conducting data research in to individuals active in the industry by using various sources including open source information, and techniques as directed by Show Director(s) or Marketing Manager(s) as well as using own initiative
Making outbound calls to qualify leads, and assessing their potential interaction with our brands. Obtaining GDPR consent and correctly profiling and mapping data.
Running data validation techniques to check accuracy and quality of source data before importing/processing data i.e. reviewing quality and completeness of lists
Researching companies according to specific profile as directed by Show Director(s) or Marketing Manager(s).
2.Processing data and ensuring compliance
Creating Campaigns/lists in data systems according to naming conventions
Assisting with GDPR compliance across various systems where data is housed. Pulling and sharing data lists in a GDPR compliant manner
Checking and profiling all incoming leads on regional events and ensure systems sync correctly
Ensuring that all newly researched leads are uploaded in a GDPR compliant manner according to the ‘new leads’ research process
Reconciling relevant attendee campaigns post event / checking dynamic lists and ensuring all confirmed attendees are contacts
Assisting with the development and enforcement of internal data governance
3.Data Analysis
Support Marketing Managers in undertaking data gap and webinar analyses
Providing insight to how campaigns are doing and giving direction to marketing campaigns
Regularly monitoring results against set targets and suggesting recommendations for improvement
Presenting insights to project team and/or full company
4.Producing Written Content
Actively participating in project meetings and gaining knowledge of projects (region, topics, audience etc). Putting forward observations and new ideas to drive the success of events and wider team activities
Joining Advisory Board Meetings/Webinars/Round Tables taking notes and writing takeaway pieces as advised by Show Director(s) or Marketing Manager(s)
Writing website content/news content (articles and social media) for relevant shows
If travelling to show, providing day 1 & day 2 highlights as well as “5 things we learned” summary (from year 1 onwards)

Ability to use own initiative to source new leads based on a brief
Confidence to get on the phone
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Must be able to balance speed and quality and be held accountable for results from concept to final execution
Willingness to learn and use feedback to improve skill set
Goal oriented and deadline driven
Works well in a small, international team
Willingness to be based in one of the Council’s international offices, after a period of time
