Data Analyst - Cape Town at Crypto Banter

Job Summary 

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our team in Cape Town. As the Data Analyst, you will be responsible for making us a data-driven company, including building data dashboards, analyzing data & finding “needle-in-haystack” insights. Top-notch Excel/Google Sheets skills are a must. 

You will also be the main technical point of contact for our exchange partners and work with them to automate our verification process with exchanges. The process involves verifying student accounts for our courses by having them sign up for an exchange account with one of our exchange partners and deposit $100 funds for trading into their exchange accounts. Investigating any issues and streamlining the verification process will be part of your role.

Developing a data-driven approach to community-building is also part of your role. A thriving community can become a clever way to scale support for our students during their 3-week program. We want our students to have the best possible experience, and we believe data will help us monitor our progress across cohorts and within our alumni base.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze data, uncover insights & build data dashboards 
• Be the main technical point of contact for our exchange partners and work to automate our verification process
• Investigate and streamline the verification process to reduce potential points of failure

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in a data analysis role, preferably within a startup environment or a fast-paced industry
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify key insights and trends from complex data sets
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and A/B testing methodologies
• Understanding of web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Mixpanel)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, marketing, community and student support teams

Nice to have:

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science)
• Experience working with APIs and SQL databases
• Understanding of web analytics tools beyond Google Analytics (e.g. Mixpanel) and tracking implementation best practices
• A passion for crypto and a desire to help us achieve our mission of taking crypto mainstream through education
