They are actively looking for a Data Architect to join their team in Cape Town. You will be responsible for analysing their data needs and for this, you should have a background in analytics and various coding programs to analyse information and draw conclusions.

To apply, you need to have 5+ years’ working experience as a Data Architect coupled with 10+ years’ experience with all aspects of IT projects from business analysis, architectures, system analysis and design through development, testing, implementation, and production support (SDLC).

You need to have 5+ years’ experience in leading a team through an architectural development process and collaborating with application development teams, architects and other members of the software development team.

You also need to have solid experience using the following:

• Architecture and design (UML, OO, SOA, etc.);
• Software frameworks and methodologies (Agile, TOGAF, etc.);
• RDBMS and advanced skills in query languages, especially SQL;
• BI solutions, decision support systems, OLAP technology; and,
• Modern data warehousing technologies such as Microsoft and Oracle.

This is no mean feat… So you will need to be a pretty seasoned, experienced person with a finger on the pulse in terms of new data and systems thinking.
