    Data Designer

    Data Design and Architecture

    • Assist in the design and maintenance of conceptual, logical and physical data models, for specific business unit requirements as well as to represent an integrated and consistent view of data across the organisation.
    • Participate in defining data modelling and design standards, templates, patterns, processes, methodologies, tools, best practices and governance for the entire Data Office to ensure consistency and re-use and to ease understanding.
    • Assist in the collaboration with enterprise architecture to design and maintain a robust and future-fit data architectural landscape.
    • Assist in the collaboration with data engineering to ensure data is structured in a way to enable reuse, ease-of-use, consistency, inter-operability and auditability, and to reduce duplication and redundancy.
    • Assist in the translation of business needs into data models which support long term solutions.
    • Generate DDLs from physical data models.
    • Perform reverse engineering of databases and ETL/scripts into physical data models.
    • Perform data analysis and mining, using SQL and other techniques.
    • Participate in resolving data integration challenges.
    • Assist in the documentation of data requirements to ensure they are clearly understood, and the deliverables required of the Data Office can be met.

    Continuous improvement to ensure effective service

    • Ensure statutory and legislative knowledge is current in order to resolve complaints, to advise the business on corrective solutions to mitigate risks and to improve the customer experience whilst complying with governance requirements.
    • Ensure adherence to organisational policies, practices and procedures.
    • Assist in identifying solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.

    Service delivery to ensure customer satisfaction

    • Maintain service, quality and desired outputs across the business process by ensuring compliance to tactical policies, procedures and standards.
    • Establish productive operational relationships with key stakeholders in the various channels and administrative teams.
    • Develop work routines in line with operational plans / schedules in order to manage achievement of service delivery goals.
    • Share knowledge on, and participate in the creation of new standards, control systems and procedures to maintain service delivery.

    Manage quality people practices

    • Align own behaviour with the organisation culture and values.
    • Share and transfer product, process and systems knowledge to colleagues and team members.
    • Collaborate and work with the business to deliver required service levels.

    Actively share information with other team members regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas.
