Data Engineer at JUMO.WORLD

Role Purpose

As Senior Data Engineer you will be responsible for driving, designing and building scalable ETL systems for a big data warehouse in a highly scalable environment to drive the highest return on data. This position will be based in Cape Town and will report to the Head of Data Systems

• Enhance and maintain our existing ETL frameworks in line with agreed design patterns and internal governance standards to improve our EDW product offering and to remain scalable
• Design and implement ETL pipelines
• Ensure highest data quality assurance through regular and in-depth review and testing of work
• Create easily understandable technical documentation that are kept up to date

What You’ll Need

• A relevant business or IT degree/diploma
• Experience and understanding in designing and developing data warehouses according to the Kimball methodology
• Adept at design and development of ETL processes
• SQL development experience, preferably TSQL or PSQL
• SSIS experience including the ability to ingest/output CSV, JSON and other flat file types
• Experience in MS SQL Stack – SSIS/ SSAS/ SSRS
• Proficient in Python or C# or willing to learn
• Experience within financial services or a start-up environment
• Experience in AWS is advantageous
