Data Historian at Robert Walters

• My Client is seeking a Senior Specialist IM Data Historian Support position to ensure effective management and utilization of historical data.
• The role involves supporting data historian systems, optimizing system performance, maintaining data integrity, and enabling strategic decision-making through actionable insights.
• This position plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations, security, and integration of data historian systems with other IM systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safety: Promote and uphold safety principles to ensure zero harm and eliminate fatalities.

Performance & Delivery:

• Maintain and optimize data historian systems for accuracy and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot issues promptly and ensure seamless system integration with other IT systems.
• Provide user support, maintain data security, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Manage third-party vendors and oversee project plans for effective delivery.
• People & Teams: Foster an inclusive, high-performing culture aligned with company values while promoting diversity and continuous improvement.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal and external regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Undergraduate qualification (Bachelor’s degree/Diploma) in Engineering or IM discipline; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
• 5–7 years of experience in historian solution support models, OSIsoft PI systems, SQL databases, reporting applications (e.g., PowerBI), and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Experience in minerals processing (concentrating, smelting, refining) preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of IM systems, business analysis, stakeholder engagement, and mining value chain systems.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Java, C++, Python) and relational databases (SSIS/SSRS).

Other Requirements:

• Valid EB/Code 08 driver’s license.
• Medical certificate of fitness may be required along with occasional travel needs.
