Data Quality Use Officer: Roving at BroadReach

Purpose of the position
To support the DOH data capturers and Facility information officers in the form of data collection, verification, back capturing, mentorship and in-service training and implementation of new systems, processes and procedures to improve data quality dimensions (Accuracy, Reliability, Completeness, Precision/Consistency, Timeliness, Integrity/Validity, accessibility, Confidentiality) within a facility, sub-district and district.

Key Accountabilities (included but not limited to)
In your role as Data Quality and Use Officer you will be accountable for:

• Capacity building (Training, Indicator definition, SOPs, Data management processes)
• Data quality/Integrity mechanisms and controls for continues improvement (Data correction and verification; QIP, verification tools, nerve centre information meetings)
• TB HIV data analysis using TIER exports
• Support roll out of DOH data Tools
• Stakeholder management
• Links with district/national and other reporting systems
• Data quality reporting requirements (collection, reporting forms/registers/systems and tools)

 

Qualifications
Essential:

• Diploma/degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/Statistics/Monitoring and Evaluation
• 3-5 years Health Data Management experience (DHIS, TIER.Net, ETR.NET)
• Driver’s license and motor vehicle

Desirable

• M&E and or Data Management qualification or Administrative qualification linked with 2 years relevant health data management experience
• Preferable previous experience with ETR.NET

 

Experience & Skills

• 2 years’ experience in data/information management in a Health environment
• Understanding of HIV and TB modules in TIER.Net reporting system
• Knowledge of DOH major policy directives and signature programs
• Knowledge of the public health system / Health systems awareness
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Data Management Skills within health setting
• Computer literacy (excel pivot tables)
• Numerical reasoning
• Entry level analytics/ monitoring and evaluation
• Facilitation and mentoring/capacity building
