Data Scientist - Cape Town at ClearScore

What you will be doing:

• Improving monitoring of performance (working with commercial and data engineering to establish better data pipelines)
• Measuring impact and reporting back to stakeholders

Building analytical tools:

• Propensity models predicting user likelihood of acceptance, completion and offer for financial products
• Consume data sets, build/train, validate, publish and retrain models that focus on credit risk and the applicability of products for our users
• Building features creating common data pipelines between training and inference
• Segmentation of users for commercial development

Taking ownership:

• Working with various stakeholders in identifying and prioritising actionable, impactful insights across the financial product application process
• Ensuring that most appropriate tools and techniques are used. Maintaining a roadmap of different tools and libraries

Roadmap maintenance and delivery:

• Working with commercial and product to maintain a delivery roadmap. This section seems to speak to advancing the data science function.
• Work with data engineering to define and automate data set creation
• Ensure that the team is using the correct set of tools, processes, libraries etc for the task at hand.

Skills we'd love you to have:

• At least three to five years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar
• Proven ability to understand business problems, setting up data science projects and building appropriate data sets.
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to translate business requirements into Data Science solutions.
• Being intellectually curious and excited by working with large data sets.
• Experience with Python

Nice-to-have:

• Graduated in quantitative Bachelors, or ideally, a higher degree
• Experience deploying models to production
• Familiarity with our toolkit: AWS environment using SageMaker. Most of the team uses Python
