PostgreSQL Database Administrator

My client is seeking a passionate Database Administrator to design, develop, monitor, and maintain their PostgreSQL database. They are migrating from a Firebird Database into a scalable cloud solution using Postgres.

You will be joining a dynamic team that develops high performance software and cutting-edge electronic hardware products for customers. Their software portfolio covers mobile, desktop, server side and web front end applications and services.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy and maintain PostgreSQL database in UNIX and Windows environments
• Monitor, optimise performance and scaling across multiple servers
• Design and implement schema creation and update scripts
• Configure replication from remote sites to primary sites
• Implement fail over recovery plan with hot stand by
• Management of DB servers, Docker containers and VMs
• Standby for any DB system failures

Minimum Previous Experience:

• BSc Degree in Computer Science / Information technology
• A minimum of 5 years of proven work experience as a DB administrator
• Core understanding of relational databases and connectivity
• SQL Language experience essential
• Firebird database experience is beneficial for migration requirements
• Telecommunication systems knowledge beneficial
• Delphi / Object Pascal experience is beneficial
