Debt Collector, East London at Sheldon Recruitment

• Our client has a vacancy for a Debt Collector, on a permanent basis, based in East London, Eastern Cape.
• A well-established company based in East London is seeking a reliable and results-driven Debt Collector to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and recovering outstanding accounts, primarily from government departments and state-owned entities, while assisting in maintaining healthy cash flow for the business.

Applicants are required to strictly meet the following criteria:

• Minimum 3 years’ proven experience in Debt Collections (essential)
• Valid Driver’s License (essential)
• A multilingual person will be advantageous
• Experience dealing with government departments and SOEs advantageous
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Computer literacy and administrative ability
• Ability to work independently and meet targets

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Following up on outstanding accounts and overdue payments
• Liaising with clients regarding account queries and payment arrangements
• Conducting onsite visits where required
• Preparing collection reports and maintaining accurate records
• Ensuring professional client communication and relationship management Strong attention to detail
• Professional and confident communicator
• Organized and able to work under pressure
