A vacancy exists for a Debtors Clerk, based at Life Westville Hospital, reporting to Kenny Veeran, Patient Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the financial and clinical administrative risks pertaining to future patient admissions.
Critical Outputs
Banking and schedule preparation
Assistance with COID and Private collections and processes
Ad hoc general admin functions
Collect debt in accordance with Group targets and measurements using credit control protocols and procedures.
Maintain sound working relationships with hospitals by liaising with Case Managers.
Proactively manage short payments to maximize cash flow and minimize rejections.
Manage reconciliation of the suspense account to maintain updated ledgers.
Contribute to the hospital target debtors days by maintaining own personal collection targets. Eliminate bad debts through adherence to Group protocol and handover procedure.
Liaise with the patient and or guarantor as needed to facilitate speedy resolution of queries.
Requirements
Matric
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Credit Control environment, with sound working knowledge of Credit principles with Healthcare experience essential
Banking experience
Computer literacy is an inherent job requirement.
Good communication skills and a customer orientated approach are required.
An analytical and focused approach towards meeting set targets is vital.
The ability to manage your own outputs, while functioning within a team is important, as well as the ability to function well in a dynamic and pressured environment.
