Dental Assistant.3.05 Grade 15 at University of the Witwatersrand

Requirements:

Five years’ work experience as a Dental Assistant.  Appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as a Dental Assistant.  Registration with HPCSA as Dental Assistant and proof of current membership.  The applicant must have excellent time management, organizational skills, and communication skills, be self-motivated and goal-orientated, analytical and solution orientated, and have the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at various levels in the organization.

Brief Description        

Duties:

• Assist Clinicians and Students during oral health procedures
• Preparation of instruments and dental material for dental procedures
• Cleaning and sterilisation of instruments
• Practice and maintain infection control standards
• Patient care
• Compile statistics of the work done in the facility
• Ordering of consumables as needed
• Do inventory count of dental instruments, equipment and consumables
• Perform administrative duties
• Relieve in other Oral Health facilities
• Working at external training platforms offsite as and when required
