Deputy Director: Centre For Social Development

Main Objectives
- To support and work closely with the Director of the Centre for Social Development (CSD) in leading and managing the CSD. Responsible for aligning Community Development strategically with the overall strategy of the CSD.
- The CSD must ensure that the community development function is integrated academically with the institution, the Faculty of Education, and the CSD.
The Requirements

At least an Honours Degree relevant to Education, Social or Community Development (Master’s will be an advantage), plus at least 3 years’ relevant field experience, where such experience includes:
- Early childhood development and/or community development work
- Management of staff and programmes with a strong track record of delivery
- Financial management and working with budgets
- Fundraising with a successful track record in conceptualising new proposals, maintaining productive relations with funders and meeting funding requirements
- Supervisory experience of at least 3 years at a middle management level
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Experience in a non-profit organisation would be advantageous
