Matric Certificate, National Diploma/bachelor’s degree/Postgraduate qualification in Public Management/ Public Administration/Office management or any other related field. 3-5 years’ experience in Supervisory/Managerial/ Office management and Executive Support at Assistant Director level. Experience working in the Finance Environment will be an added advantage.
Competency in the use of computers (Ms Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge and understanding of public service policies and procedures, Financial Management, Project Management, PFMA, Treasury Regulations and financial governance frameworks, Government reporting and oversight processes.
Working knowledge of the functioning of Provincial/ National Government. Strong organisational and coordination skills. Report writing and document preparation. High level of confidentiality and professionalism, Communication skills, Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, Problem-solving and decision-making skills, Planning and organisational skills.
Duties :
Manage and coordinate the overall functioning of the Office of the CFO. Develop and maintain office systems, processes, and controls to improve efficiency. Manage workflow, priorities, and deadlines within the CFO Office.
Provide high-level strategic and administrative support to the CFO. Coordinate the preparation of financial reports, submissions, briefing notes, and presentations. Support the CFO in fulfilling governance responsibilities in terms of the PFMA. Track implementation of decisions and resolutions from governance structures. Manage and coordinate the CFO’s executive diary in alignment with strategic and governance priorities. Assess and prioritise meeting requests in line with financial reporting cycles and oversight commitments.
Ensure the CFO is adequately prepared for engagements through timely provision of documentation. Coordinate logistics for high-level meetings with Treasury, Executive Management, oversight bodies, and stakeholders. Align the CFO’s schedule with critical financial deadlines, audit timelines, and reporting cycles. Coordinate consolidation of financial and performance reports required by the CFO.
Monitor submission of reports from Finance units (Budget, SCM, Assets, Revenue, Expenditure). Support compliance with PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and financial policies. Assist with preparations for audits and governance committees. Serve as liaison between the CFO and internal finance units, programme managers, Executive Management, Treasury, and oversight bodies.
Coordinate responses to financial information requests and oversight queries. Coordinate CFO-led meetings. Compile agendas and meeting packs. Record resolutions and monitor implementation.
Maintain a tracking system for commitments and deadlines. Manage confidential financial and strategic documents. Ensure proper records management in line with government policies. Manage the budget and expenditure of the Office of the CFO. Coordinate procurement and asset management for the office. Supervise administrative staff reporting to the office
