Deputy Director: Security Advisory Services (2 Posts Available), Ref No. POCS 08/2025 at Western Cape Government

Job Purpose

• Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Western Cape Government has opportunities for two (2) suitably qualified and competent individuals to effectively manage safety and security risks to build departmental resilience.

Minimum Requirements

• An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)
• A minimum of 3 years middle management experience
• A valid code B (or higher) driving licence.
• NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

Key Performance Areas

• Manage and influence safety and security governance transversally within departments; Support the implementation of ISO-aligned safety and security methodologies for people, processes, and technology within departments; Embed a positive safety and security culture in WCG; Advise departments on Occupational Health and Safety Compliance; Manage and coordinate sub-directorate resources.

Competencies

Knowledge of the following:

• Specialist knowledge of OHS legislation, systems and procedures; ISO 31000 - Risk Management, ISO 45001- Occupational Health and Safety, SAMTRAC, SHERQ reporting and safety and security risk management
• Safety and security related legislation, standards and regulations (understanding and
• interpretation)
• Technical knowledge of OHS risk management processes
• Leading and supervising

Remuneration

• All-inclusive salary package of R 896 436 per annum (Salary Level 11)
