A Grade 12 certificate, and NQF 7 qualification in Security Management recognised by SAQA, plus five to ten years relevant experience, of which 3 years at Assistant director level, Valid registration with PSIRA grade A, Valid driver's licence. Project Management/Security Advisory Management/SAMTRAC certificate will be an added advantage.
Competencies: Knowledge of Security-related prescripts, Security Law, MISS, MPSS, OHS, and Security Risk Management. Knowledge of Security Supervision, Security Operational Management, Security Administration, Personnel Security Administration and Security Contingency Management. Good communication and interpersonal relations skills, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, Performance management and presentation skills.
Duties :
The purpose of this position is to manage the information and physical Security services. Development and Implementation of security policy and procedures. Implementation of MISS and MPSS, manage and update the electronic access control, CCTV and fire prevention systems. Create, interpret and report on security management information.
Develop security service level agreements for appointed security service providers. Management of outsourced security and all security contracts of the department. Report and investigate security breaches. Develop and monitor the security breaches register. Development and implementation of the security awareness program.
Conduct audits on physical and information security. Ensure the implementation of the key control system and access control. Attend meeting with stakeholders and provide feedback.
Develop and maintain a vetting rolling programme for staff and contractors, advise on compliance issues related to vetting, develop and monitor the departmental vetting register, and coordinate and ensure safety and security in departmental events. Implement a performance management system for internal staff. Control and monitor the budget expenditure of the directorate. Manage the compilation of various reports and statistics for the directorate. Manage leave of subordinates.
