Key Responsibility Areas
Co-ordinate, manage and provide specialised service for pollution Control, Food safety management and Quality Assurance.
Responsible for the completing of business plan for funding from provincial national and international government.
Commenting drafting and reviewing legislation and by-law for the council pertinent to this section.
Dealing with communities Non-government organisation and industries on a regular basis.
Prepare and review performance.
Formulate strategic direction for the section.
Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of an effective occupational health and safety system.
Ensure all relevant regulations and codes for pollution control are adhered to.
Coordinates and control personnel functions and training.
Responsible for the management of finance for the section.
Promote the culture of integrated pollution control and waste management in terms of the National White Paper.
Provide strategic management support in facilitating multi-stakeholder collaboration to achieve best practices in pollution control

Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Environmental Science or Environmental Health or Environmental Management or any other related and equivalent qualification.
Current Registration with relevant professional body.
Peace Officer Certificate.
Certified Environmental Management Inspector.
9 Years relevant experience at a management level of which at least 5 years must be at a senior management level.
