Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 certificate or equivalent. Basic R425 qualification (i.e Degree/ diploma in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse with midwifery.
An additional qualification registered with SANC according to Regulation R212 in Health Services Management/Nursing Administration (degree or diploma). A qualification in Nursing Education will be an added advantage.
Proof of current registration with SANC as a professional nurse.
Experience:
A minimum of 9 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
At least 4 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognizable experience at management level. Duties :
Provide strategic management and leadership within the nursing management and function as part of the Nursing executive management team of the hospital. Ensure Quality Patient Care, Clinical Governance, manage quality improvement of nursing care.
Develop and Monitor Policies. Ensure compliance and adherence to nursing regulations, Batho Pele principles, and other legal frameworks. Manage Resources: Ensue continuous development of nursing personnel. Promote Professionalism.
Establish, maintain and participate in the inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teamwork that promotes efficient and effective health care. Manage allocated budgets which include, Nursing Personnel, Agency, and Overtime, Budget, Equipment, Vetting and Asset Management. Comply with the Performance Management and Development System (Contracting, reviews and final assessment).
