Develop Electrical OHTE construction project specifications and designs based on customer requirements and railway design standards.
Develop Electrical Substation and Transmission line construction project specifications and designs based on customer requirements and railway design standards.
Develop Electrical Building Services construction project specifications and designs based on customer requirements and railway design standards.
Collaborate with contractors, and other construction professionals to ensure that engineering designs are feasible and meet all client project requirements.
Working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software and other requisite engineering tools to create and refine construction project designs. Creating 3D models and animations using CAD and BIM software. Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to determine the viability of new designs and construction techniques.
Develop and maintain project and contract documentation, including design reports, design drawings and specifications.
Ensure that construction projects meet statutory and regulatory requirements and adhere to railway safety, reliability, and sustainability standards.
Collaborate with members of the multi-disciplinary project team to ensure that construction projects are completed on time, within budget and in compliance with defined quality standards. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings and making recommendations to senior project management team members.
Conduct regular project team meetings and provide guidance and support to the multi-disciplinary team members.
Ensure that all project stakeholders are kept informed of project progress and project planning and milestone changes.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
BSc/BEng Degree or BTech (Electrical). Must provide Certificate with transcript.
Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer is preferred, applicants registered as Candidate Engineers will also be considered.
At least 5 years Electrical design experience.
Candidates with experience in Rail OHTE, Substation and Transmission line experience will be preferred.
