Design Engineer (Roads) – Engineering industry – Johannesburg, Gauteng at Hire Resolve

Job Description

• Hire Resolve’s client in engineering industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Design Engineer (Roads) in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Responsibilities:

• Performing designs and implementing infrastructure projects, specifically focusing on roads geometric design, and managing the infrastructure element of multidisciplinary projects.
• Leading small to medium-sized projects.
• Optimizing the utilization of revenue-earning work.
• Ensuring service excellence.
• Complying with the Quality Management System.
• Contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the sector.
• Mentoring junior staff members.
• Assisting in the preparation of bids.
• Preparing clear and accurate technical designs, drawings, diagrams, and other technical documents using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Software, based on design specifications.

Requirements:

• BSc/BTech Civil Engineering.
• PrEng/PrTech.
• Minimum of 10 years roads geometric design related experience (Civil Designer or Civil 3D).
• Experience in Rural and Urban roads designs.
• Experience in Pavement and/or hydrology design will be an added advantage.
• Experience in preparing tender documentation and contract administration related to roads projects.
• Road design and calculation of construction quantities.
