Design Intern at Pargo

Description

We’re looking for a creative, ambitious design intern to join our marketing team, learn from seasoned creatives and create beautiful content. We offer a cool office environment in Woodstock. You are an inspired and creative young graphic design graduate who is looking for their first job experience. We are on the lookout for someone with a passion for original artwork and an affinity to Adobe Creative Suite. You know how to translate a value proposition into visuals while never losing sight of the brand guidelines. You have a solid understanding of design theory and get excited about branding.

At Pargo, you will work in a small supportive team consisting of an experienced head of marketing, an inspiring brand designer, a UX Designer, a product marketing manager, social media manager and a content creator. Flat hierarchies are characteristic for Pargo which creates an ideal environment to learn and grow. There is huge room for the swift implementation of creative ideas.

Responsibilities

• Take creative direction from our lead brand designer
• Assist with roll-out of creative while adhering to brand guidelines
• Help with pitch decks and marketing collateral
• Execute concepts and designs of campaign artwork
• Contribute creative ideas to brainstorm sessions
• Ensure artwork is correct and supplied in the right format/sizes/colour codes
• Assist with photo and video shoots
• Assist with the design of mailers
• Work on fun internal marketing briefs as well as ad hoc Pargo tasks

Requirements

You enjoy working in a young, agile and dynamic team and have the ability to work independently and take initiative and ownership on projects. You need to be passionate about design and branding and eager to learn about new digital marketing trends.

In addition we would expect you to have:

• A National Diploma/Degree in Graphic Design or any related creative field
• A solid foundation of design theory and branding

• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
• The ability to think creatively and develop original design concepts, graphics and layouts

• The ability to understand and follow a brief and bring a concept to life

• Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
• Up to date with industry-leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, (dreamweaver advantageous)
• Proficiency in Google Slides (but can learn on the job)
• Professionalism regarding meeting deadlines

• The ability to work on multiple briefs at the same time
• Strong affinity to social media marketing tools
• Keen interest in digital marketing
