Design Manager at Syndicate Personnel Specialists

Our client, a leader in the plastics manufacturing industry has an exciting opportunity for a product development expert to manage their Design Centre and ensure timeous output of analysis results and prototype samples.

You must be fully conversant with 3D CAD and simulation software as well as its application because you will be responsible for assisting the designers in generating new packaging designs for bottles, closures and crates in 3D CAD and presenting these in a suitable format to internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and optimizing packaging designs to enable high functional performance with the efficient use of material.
• Initiating and managing projects that explore innovative packaging design for both internal and external customers.
• Assisting the designers to design blow mould and injection mould components and assemblies and communicate these to internal and external suppliers in appropriate formats.
• Managing and maintaining all design data to ensure the availability of designs to the relevant stakeholders and traceability of design changes.

Applicants must have a Mechanical Engineering degree coupled with at least 5 years plastics product development experience including engineering simulation and product optimisation.
