Desktop Support Specialist (Mac) at Sanlam Indie

We're looking for a desktop & IT support specialist to join our team and help manage the hardware and software our teams use every day. We work primarily in the cloud with both Mac & Windows hardware.

Job requirements

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and support to help Indie team members debug hardware and software issues
• Manage user access and roles for multiple cloud services including Slack, G-suite etc.
• Manage the procurement of new hardware and software
• Manage new employee equipment and software deployment
• Manage hardware repairs & temporary machine loan outs
• Advise on software or hardware upgrades and give input into budget and resource planning
• Maintain an up to date asset & access register
• Assist in creating training materials to help our people make the best use of the hardware and software services we use
• Work with DevOps and SecOps to keep our machines and software running and safe
• Maintain a ticketing system and respond to team queries in a timely manner
• Assist with Vendor evaluations
• Work with SecOps and compliance to ensure our people work safely and protect sensitive and private information

Our Ideal Candidate

• You have the ability to work on your own, sometimes spearheading a new direction with minimal guidance
• You have strong experience with Mac OS and cloud services like G-suite, Slack and Asana
• You are a strong verbal and written communicator and can work remotely
• You love working in a team structure and interacting with a diverse group of people of varying skill levels
• You love learning about and exploring new technologies and how best to use them to make work more productive and fun
• You have experience in managing the procurement of hardware and software
• You have strong experience in helping users solve technical queries
• You like to put systems in place to manage your workload and make things easier for people
