    Desktop Support Technician

    Job Summary:

    A vacancy for a Desktop Support Technician has just become available at the prestigious Faircape Group in Claremont. The successful incumbent will assist the IT Department and Faircom with all technical support. If you would like to work in a fast paced environment that chases innovation and strives for excellence, then this is the role for you!

    Duties for this position include, but are not limited to the following

    • Desktop support
    • Installing computers, laptops, Chromebooks, printers, phones, wifi
    • Hardware and software support onsite and remotely
    • Helpdesk support and ticketing system
    • Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software
    • Set up and creating profiles for new staff, including email, PC/Laptop, VOIP phone, mobile phones, networking point etc
    • Train and support internal users
    • Keeping the internal IT infrastructure up to spec and working efficiently
    • Reporting on equipment, where and what does not comply and providing a clear path to resolving
    • Residential ISP support, email and phone based

    Requirements
    Qualification

    • Matric
    • Relevant Information Technology Degree or Diploma advantageous

    •  

    Experience And Knowledge

    • 2 - 3 years experience in a similar role
    • General network and internet understanding
    • Windows, Chromebook & MAC OS , LinuxKnowledge of G-suite (Gmail)
    • Troubleshooting computer/ Laptop and software issues
    • Printers
    • VOIP phones
    • WIFI experience

    • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Customer service orientated
    • Must be able to multitask
    • Deadline driven
    • Good problem-solving ability
    • Attention to detail

    • Own transport
    • Clear credit record
